I tried replacing the cable just in case that was the problem but it did not change the issue.
Vga cable plugged in but not working.

So i just received my alienware x51 and dell u2412m monitor.

I have two monitors plugged into my gtx760 ti graphics card one through dvi one through vga the.
Check if there is any damage or something inside the port is preventing vga signal from getting through.
I have one monitor plugged into the dvi output via a vga converter thing this works fine.
Next if this does not solve your problem disconnect your computer dvd player or another input device from your cable and plug in a new input device.
First check the vga port.
Monitor just says no video sighnal.
When i plug in the monitor with the dvi cable and turn it on it says no vga cable the display will go into power save mode in 5 minutes i tried to use the vga cable but there s no input for that on my pc.
What do i do.
I have windows 7 x64.
I have an intel i7 4790k cpu 4 00 ghz.
My computer runs windows 10 pro 64bit.
If necessary replace them with another identical signal cable e g hdmi or dvi to conduct a cross test.
I have it hooked up to my computer with a vga cable using a dvi adapter as my video card only has 1 hdmi port being used by my main monitor 3 display ports and 1 dvi port.
It is an old 10 years monitor but works ok if i plug it into the dvi vga converter.
Check to be sure that it is plugged into a power source that works and turned on.
